CareerMatch
The Scenario
Career Match connected MITRE employees looking for new projects with project leaders seeking specific skills and expertise. While the application offered many powerful features, user feedback revealed that people weren't discovering them. My new landing pages highlighted the system's recommended matches and surfaced valuable tools that had been buried in the previous navigation, making it easier for both employees and project leaders to find each other and fully leverage Carer Match's capabilities.
My Role
I led both the research and design for this improvement effort. I conducted user interviews to understand how employees were using Career Match and the challenges they faced. While some issues extended beyond the tool itself, the research directly informed my redesign of the staff and work cards for easier scanning and helped me identify opportunities for future enhancements. In addition to the new landing pages, I created a more intuitive information architecture that brought features to the surface where users could easily discover and use them.
