Find My Colleagues
The Scenario
As MITRE switched to a hybrid work model, employees struggled to determine who was in the office and where they were sitting. Find My Colleagues integrated multiple systems and data sources to solve this challenge, helping employees coordinate in-office days and locate colleagues for meetings and collaboration. The feature quickly became one of the most popular tools on MITRE's internal homepage and was also integrated into the MITRE@Work app.
My Role
I designed this feature from initial concept through multiple iterations, progressively adding functionality such as editing your list of favorite colleagues alongside Microsoft Graph suggestions, detecting colleagues on corporate wi-fi to show on-site presence without a reservation, and incorporating cancel and check-in options to manage your own reservations. Throughout development, I collaborated with our web and mobile development teams to ensure consistent functionality across platforms and partnered with related services to resolve technical challenges (for example ensuring we could map our location data to the corresponding wireless networks).
